Post World War II, operational research sciences dominated the need for optimization of processes in various functional areas. The baton is now in the hands of strategic and tactical operationalization with high involvement of information management systems. Businesses today talk about knitting operational strategy with Business strategy. This has led to operations management not just being a support system, but a revenue generating mechanism. Flipkart designed its business strategy based on its distribution channel. Toyota is the largest automobile manufacturer today, owing to the breakthrough operational excellence. Which operational key can unlock the gates of success for an organization? Is it strategy? Is it logistics? Or is it Quality? Through OperAce, let us get an answer from the young and innovative minds to the question that lies before us, What is required to Ace the Race, in the world of operations management?
The event comprises of three rounds
The first round would comprise of an online quiz. The top twelve teams would be shortlisted for the next round
Top 12 teams from the first round will be given a case study. The teams need to submit the solution in the prescribed format. The top 6 teams from this will proceed onto Round 3.
Round three will be the grand finale of OperAce (On Campus). The top 6 teams will have to present the case study in front of a panel which will judge the submissions and declare the final winners.
Rules: Quiz Date and Time: 5th January 2016 - 9:30 pm Quiz Team Size: 2-3 members No of questions in the quiz: 20 questions Time period of the quiz: 30 minutes
General Guidelines: 1. One participant cannot be part of more than one team. 2. The questions will revolve around the world of operations management 3. All the members must be from the same institute. 4. This quiz will serve as the preliminary round, subsequent to which teams will be shortlisted for the next round 5. The decision of the organizers will be final and binding. 6. The Terms and Conditions of participation are subject to change at any time without specific notice. 7. The amended Terms and Conditions of entry will be effective immediately upon being posted on the website. 8. It is the sole responsibility of the teams to regularly visit the Website to read any changes. 9. The event is open only to B-school students.
