The 2015 PLT Labs Application Innovation Contest invites contestants from 33 countries to compete for cash prizes worth up to $85,000 USD. Contestants will have access to Plantronics APIs, SDKs, and product concept prototypes and work in teams to build new applications and business models in one of the following categories:

The Contest is sponsored by Plantronics, Inc. (“Sponsor” or “Plantronics”) and is open and offered only to individuals age eighteen (18) or older and at least the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at time of registration who are current legal residents of one of the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada (excluding Québec), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States. Plantronics, Inc., its affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, and their respective employees, officers, directors, representatives, agents, and family members of those employees (spouse, domestic partner, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, children, siblings and their spouses) and individuals living in the same household of those employees, whether related or not, are not eligible to participate and will be disqualified. Plantronics reserves the right to limit, or restrict upon notice, participation in the Contest to any person at any time for any reason in its sole discretion.
Plantronics will loan the 20 Quarter-Finalists teams a prototype device, to build and test their application. Teams will use this prototype device to further develop their idea and submit a sample code and design of the application interface. The Plantronics Judges will select the top 10 teams as Semi-Finalists to proceed to the Finals round. Each Semi-Finalist team will also be assigned a Plantronics Mentor.
STEP 3: SUBMIT THE PROTOTYPE AND A BRIEF BUSINESS CASE
In the Finals round, the top 10 Semi-Finalists teams will submit a prototype of their application, a final business report, and a short video. The Plantronics Judges will then select the top 5 teams as Finalists teams to proceed to the Winners round.
STEP 4: WINNERS’ SELECTION
In May 2015, a delegate from each finalist team will be invited to present the team’s prototype live in front of the judges or via video. The Plantronics Judging Panel will judge and award the top three teams with the first place winning team receiving $50,000 USD, the second place winning team receiving $25,000 USD, and third place winning team receiving $10,000 USD for total prizes of $85,000 USD.
